(HOUSTON) July 10, 2012: The Honorable Chris Bell has endorsed James Cargas in his race to replace Tea Party Representative Culberson in Texas’ Seventh Congressional District. Cargas faces a primary runoff July 31 st.

Upon learning of his endorsement, Cargas stated, “I am proud and honored to have the endorsement of Former Congressman Chris Bell. He knows what it takes to be a member of Congress, and he knows that I am ready to serve Houston and the surrounding area on day one.”

James Cargas offers substantial public service experience. He served as a Congressional aide, law clerk at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, a Clinton White House staffer, and a special assistant in the U.S. Department of Energy under Secretary Bill Richardson. He is currently Senior Assistant City Attorney for Energy for the City of Houston.
